Stop in for dinner and meet our Chefs!
We are very lucky here to have our two wonderful chefs: John Memering and Jason Iwane.

Chef John Memering has been in the kitchen for over 20 years and has opened numerous restaurants in the Portland, Oregon, area as well as trained in United States and across Europe. Most recently before coming to us, he was an instructor at Kapiolani Community College’s Culinary Arts Program.

Chef Jason Iwane was born and raised here in Kailua. He brings 20 years of kitchen experience to the table including 11 years at Jaron’s Kailua, as well as time at 3660 On The Rise and Zia’s Caffe Kaneohe.

The new Café and Deli is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner! With our coffee bar and deli sandwiches, breakfast and lunch are very familiar, dinner however is what’s new. We’ve put together a fabulous small plate menu along with some great grab-and-go family meals and a wine list that features half bottles that are perfect for sharing just a couple of glasses out on the lanai.

World-wide shipping is done through U.S. Priority Mail. All returns must be received within 30 days of the initial shipment for a full refund. Sorry, but gift certificates are not accepted for payment for phone-in and online orders.

At Kalapawai Market, our specialty is coffee. We offer a full line of gourmet espresso and coffee drinks as well as a full line of our own Hawaiian-Roasted coffees. We proudly feature LAVAZZA Coffee in all of our espresso beverages. We have carefully selected our gourmet bean sources and worked with quality roasters and blenders to bring to you truly world-class gourmet coffees.

On-line, we are offering our full line of our popular “Palaka Bag” house coffees. (Palaka is the greenplaid design on the background of our web site.) These make wonderful gifts for friends and family anywhere, or just to take home and brew for yourself every morning.

Kona-Blend: 10% Pure Kona, 90% Colombian Supremo. A fabulous dark-roast coffee that we blend here at the Market. By far our most popular coffee.
Sumatra: A great medium/dark-roast coffee that has a perfect balance.
Hawaiian Hazelnut: Wonderful light-roast coffee with the delicious taste of Hawaiian Hazelnut. This is our most popular flavored coffee.
Vanilla-Macadamia: Also a light-roast but with the taste and aroma of Vanilla and Hawaiian Macadamia. A long-time special coffee of the day.
Decaf Ali’i Blend: Our house decaf coffee.

We have been a part of life for Kailua and Lanikai residents since 1932. Many of our customers have grown up with the Kalapawai Market, from snacks and drinks after school or on the way to the beach, to coffee, sandwiches and wines. Our location at the entrance to Kailua Beach Park and on the way into Lanikai, makes us a perfect stop for any last minute things from a bag of ice to fill the cooler to a quick lunch, to charcoal for the BBQ and we are open EVERYDAY from 6am – 9pm.

Join our Kalapawai Coffee Club and get a free drink from our gourmet coffee menu whenever you buy 10 cups of coffee. Or get a pre-paid card for 10 cups of your favorite drink and get two free. If it’s wine that you are looking for, we offer a 10% discount for purchases six bottles and over. Our gift certificates make perfect gifts too.
